Home EV charger installation questions

Will I need an electrical panel upgrade?

Not every home needs a service or panel upgrade. The decision depends on the existing service, a load calculation, the charger output, and other electrical loads. Where suitable and permitted, a compatible listed load-management system may provide an alternative. We evaluate the actual equipment and installation rather than assuming spare breaker spaces mean spare capacity.

What determines the installation cost?

Important factors include the charger location, cable route and length, wall or pavement access, electrical capacity, equipment requirements, and permitting. Outdoor or detached-garage installations may need additional work. Photographs and panel information help us identify the likely scope before an estimate is finalized.

Which charger should I buy?

Confirm your vehicle's connector, charging capability, parking location, and daily driving needs before choosing equipment. Charger output must match the installed circuit and available capacity. Ask us to review equipment requirements before purchasing a charger or assuming an existing receptacle is suitable.

Does a home charger provide backup power?

A conventional Level 2 charger does not by itself power a home during an outage. Vehicle-to-home backup requires a compatible vehicle and a supported home-integration system. Stationary battery storage is a separate option that can be evaluated around your backup goals.
